The teenagers in my classroom make no attempt to listen to me. One of them in particular seems to be laughing at me, and encouraging the other students to mess. What should I do?

Laughing is probably the most common display of emotion. It covers many emotions, such as embarrassment, sadness, not understanding, etc.
If you have a co-teacher, ask her to help you out.
Make sure you have clear rules and consequences.
Reward good behaviour.
Separate students.
If that one particular student is behaving badly, try donig the opposite of what you would do. Instead of punishing them, give them responsiblity, like passing out papers, writing on the board, etc.
Or talk to that student after class.
Talk to that studetnt’s parents.
