Most of the time your school will provide you with a place to live, so you have nothing to worry about. If they don’t, then you’ll need key money (a deposit) as well as monthly rent. Real estate agents are literally on every block. They usually have their phone number in orange and lots of A4 papers in the windows.
Key money is something you get back at the end of the contract. It can vary from 1 mil won to 50 mil and up. The more key money you put down, the less you pay per month. If you put enough down, you live rent free. Leases are for one or two years.
