It doesn’t seem like a lot of money.

A lot of the expenses that you have at home, you won’t have here. The top two are taxes and housing.

Some nationalities, like Americans, can get out of taxes for 2 years. They don’t have to pay US or Korean taxes. Even if you do, they’re low, about 3 to 5%.

Housing is provided by most employers and utilities won’t run you much. I’ve never paid more than $100 for utilities and I live in a two bedroom flat. Most peopel have one rooms, which are bedsits or studio apartments.

Eating out is cheaper as well. Grocery shopping is more expensive though.

You should EASILY be able to save $1000 a month without pinching pennies.
